Riyadh, Saudi Arabia | 2 September 2026: Big 5 Construct Saudi concluded today at Riyadh Front Exhibition & Conference Center, bringing four days of industry engagement, business discussions, strategic partnerships and practical dialogue focused on the future of Saudi Arabia’s construction sector.
Held alongside four specialized events — HVACR Saudi Arabia, FM & Clean Saudi Arabia, Heavy Saudi Arabia, and Totally Concrete Saudi Arabia — the 2026 edition placed a strong emphasis on sustainability, innovation, technology and collaboration across the Kingdom’s construction ecosystem.
Sustainability Moves from Ambition to Action
Sustainability emerged as a recurring theme across the exhibition floor and conference sessions, with exhibitors presenting technologies and solutions aimed at reducing environmental impact while improving operational efficiency.
Industry discussions also explored how early planning, collaboration, innovation and technology can help construction stakeholders translate sustainability targets into measurable outcomes across project planning, procurement, delivery and asset performance.
The event highlighted the growing importance of integrating sustainability considerations throughout the project lifecycle rather than treating them as a separate objective.
Partnerships Highlight Growing Business Engagement
The exhibition floor also provided a platform for companies to turn industry discussions into new commercial and strategic relationships, with several agreements signed during the event.
FIPCO and SAPTEC signed a cooperation agreement bringing together their expertise in construction, contracting and infrastructure. The partnership will explore joint project opportunities and support stronger project execution capabilities in Saudi Arabia.
Saudi contracting company Alruwais signed a cooperation and partnership agreement with software and AI provider Nemetschek, focusing on business development and future collaboration.
Alruwais also entered into a separate partnership with Gulf Machines Trading Co. (GUMACO) to strengthen integration between construction and manufacturing and support more efficient project delivery.
In another agreement, Alruwais partnered with Tameed Finance to explore joint financial solutions and opportunities across shared sectors.
Together, the agreements reflected the event’s role in connecting companies across different parts of the construction value chain and creating opportunities for longer-term collaboration.
Big 5 Talks Examines Practical Sustainability
The Big 5 Talks programme complemented the exhibition with discussions addressing the practical challenges facing the Kingdom’s construction sector.
During the session “Meeting Sustainability Requirements During Construction,” industry experts examined how earlier coordination between project stakeholders can help move sustainability commitments from strategy to implementation.
Dr Ahmed Taha Nouman, Director of Environment at Al Rajhi Building and Construction Company, emphasized the importance of translating sustainability targets into practical actions on construction sites.
Daoud Akeilah, Principal Sustainability Consultant at REEDs Consult, highlighted the role of collaboration across the project lifecycle, from design through procurement and delivery.
Meanwhile, Noorullah Wasi, Environmental Compliance Manager at King Fahd Sports City Project, Saudi Binladin Group, stressed the importance of early stakeholder engagement to ensure that materials, installation requirements and sustainability objectives remain achievable during construction.
The discussions reinforced the need for construction teams to establish sustainability requirements early and align stakeholders before projects reach the execution stage.
Big 5 Impact Trail Awards Recognize Sustainable Solutions
The sustainability agenda was further highlighted through the Big 5 Impact Trail Awards, which recognized solutions demonstrating innovation and practical impact across areas including low-impact technologies, circular economy principles and operational sustainability.
The Sustainability Innovation Award was presented to Prime Middle East Trading Company for its Solstice® Low-GWP Refrigerant Solutions.
Masdar received the Best Circular Economy Solution Award for its Kronospan Products, while Al-Futtaim Engineering Company was recognized with the Operational Sustainability Award for its Integrated Facilities Management Solution.
The awards underscored the growing focus on solutions that can deliver tangible sustainability and operational benefits across the built environment.
